Introducing our 2022 employee of the year

Over 90 trophies have been awarded to Advo Health employees as part of the annual ‘Advo Health V.I.P (Values in Practice) Employee Awards’ scheme.

The ‘Advo Health V.I.P (Values in Practice) Employee Awards’ take place at the end of the year via a virtual ceremony or in-person event. The awards are based around the business values – Caring, United, Pioneering, and Dependable.

Starting in 2021 the employee awards scheme is an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the incredible work that Advo Health staff do throughout the year. For 2022 over 280 nominations were made with a total of 94 trophies being awarded and over 300 employees joined the ceremony to celebrate.

Employees were awarded bronze, silver and gold for each department and then an ‘Employee of the Year’ award was given. The winners took home an engraved personalised trophy, a £50 John Lewis voucher and an invite to a special gold winners dinner that will take place in 2023.

Our 2022 ‘Employee of the Year’ is Emily Hayward. Here she describes what winning this award means to her.

I started out my career as a Disability Assessor and then became a Clinical Operations Manager for the Southwest region at Advo Health.

I am over the moon to win ‘Employee of the Year’, it was a real surprise to me. I joined the virtual ceremony whilst my husband drove us to do some Christmas shopping and we were both cheering in the car when my name came up.

It means a lot to be recognised by my colleagues through the recognition programme we use, as we all work hard on a lot of unseen things so to know that it does not go unnoticed is wonderful.

My favourite thing about working for Advo Health has to be the people and my teams. They always work so hard to meet the goals that are set and continue to produce high quality reports even under pressure.

Also, all my fellow Clinical Operation Managers are a close group in the Southwest, and I can honestly say if we didn’t work together I would choose them all as friends.

I think recognition is really important, as it is a way to show colleagues how much they are appreciated, even if it is just for being there and listening when you are feeling stressed, or to support with the workload.

Through the recognition programme, we are able to publicly show how proud we are of our colleagues and how much of a difference they make to us as well as claimants.
